Its going to be interesting to find out where the chiefs interviewed fit into the county matrix of employees after they have mismanaged the fire departments in our districts to the point of insolvency.
The real money bet,is that each of the chiefs will be getting a management job with the county and a big fat raise as a bonus.
The smart people who obkect to bad government agree that the chiefs need to be fired.
The salary and bennefits of each of the chiefs "combined" is enough to run the fire department for a few more years. The proposed vote to raise the millage on 1/31/12 is a scam.
When the voters decline to vote for the increase of millage the county will take over the fire dept. and we will be saddled with a an increase in property taxes and a decrease in services.
The county get a new source of income and we get screwed as the chiefs make $150,000 plus bennefits that total $200000 STOP THE INSANITY

There are about 35,000 voters in Golden Gate and East Naples. Last time this game up in Golden Gate about 1,200 people voted. It passed. Since than I have heard and read about people conplaining that it was done on the quite. It will be interesting to see what the voter turn out will be this time. Vote against the increase in all districts. Cut the money off and force them to consolidate.
