JONATHAN UTZ

Biography

Promoted from Managing Editor-Digital in late-2008 to his present position with the Naples News Media Group, Jonathan Utz arrived at the Daily News in early 2007 as the Multimedia Visual Director. Prior to Naples, Jonathan was the photo director at the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison, Wis., for three and a half years.

Before making the switch to newspaper work in 2003, Jonathan worked for the international news service, Agence France-Presse (AFP) for 19 years. With AFP, he was based in Miami, Washington, Hong Kong and London, holding various positions from staff photographer to regional photo manager. In those positions Jonathan covered, edited, and managed a variety of major international news and sporting events.

Jonathan received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Miami, and lives with his wife, Mary Ann, in North Naples.
