Rookery Bay volunteer John Honey helps get kayaks in the water before the start of the 2nd annual Rookery Bay Reserve Adventure Race held at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve Learning Center on Saturday morning. Approximately 50 participants competed in the 3k kayak and 4K trail run. The event was sponsored by Up A Creek Kayak Tours, Friends of Rookery Bay and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation. There was lots of beautiful scenery, if they had a moment to check it out. Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve hosted the second annual Adventure Race bright and early Saturday morning. Starting from behind the Environmental Learning Center, about 50 entrants paddled three kilometers, and then did a 4K trail run across the footbridge spanning Henderson Creek.
