Check out this intriguing May 23-25 statewide poll of registered voters by Florida Opinion Research, asking about a Charlie Crist vs. Rick Scott gubernatorial matchup in 2014. This assumes the former Florida governor challenges the incumbent Republican by running as a Democrat — and survives a Democratic primary:
■ Crist: 48.1 percent
■ Scott: 34.1 percent
■ Don't know/Refused: 12.8 percent
■ Other: 5 percent
The poll has a 3.46 percentage point margin of error.
While 60.3 percent of Republicans said they would support Scott, only 21.6 percent of independent voters backed him. Crist won 74.2 percent of Democrats and 52.2 percent of independents.

Crist is just another lousy lawyer!!!!
SunStar writes:
No way! He might not have a cute deceiving smile but Scott did more in an year for the Florida economy than Crist in the whole term. Also, Florida schools fare better now on national level statistics. Crist opposed performance based incentives.

Ok, we have to stop with the political polls this far out. They mean absolutly nothing. This is like putting new tires on your car and 1500 miles in you are worrying about replacing them again!
DoctorsPass writes:
So what do you think Scott is - Law degree from Southern Methodist University - As a republiccan for many years I'll vote for any decent candidate of any polictical party over Rick Scott. We haven't seen this much smoke and mirrors since Reubin Askew in the state of Florida.
BobinNaples writes:
Interesting. Can you point to your source for those statistics?

Anyone that has been paying attention should know these off the top of their heads.
Scott reduced his salary to $1, if we still had Charlie we would still be on our way to bankruptcy and disaster in Florida.
Sure, Its not popular to make the tough choices to balance a budget. No one likes to tighten the belt, but we must accept the reality of the situation. Unfortunately many Americans are in denial about this and that's why so may of us are in debt.
Scott has been a true leader, its refreshing to see real solutions working here in Florida instead of empty Hype & Blame we have in Washington.

TALLAHASSEE -- Florida owes less money than it did a year ago.
State officials released an annual reporton Tuesday that shows for the first time in 20 years Florida's overall debt has dropped.
The state still owes about $27.7 billion that was used to pay for everything from buying environmentally-sensitive land to building new toll roads and new school buildings.

I believe the F.C.A.T proves you wrong. I believe the jobs figures also show you wrong. What Crist opposed was performance based tests on educaters being given raises or retaining thier carrers. I'll ask you what some one else already has; where are your stats to back your statements? Or did you receive an email from the Governor's office saying that? Remember the email letter to the Editor written by Scott's people, and all you had to do was sign it and send it in? lol How about the fake head lines from the Miami Herald about crime stats?LOL. Seems a severe case of buyers remorse here; or should I say sellers? As many Floridian's bought a bill of goods, that was being sold by snake oil sales persons.I believe Mitt will pay heed to this poll and approach Charlie for his support. As clearly none of those running for President sought Scott's endorsement. Now that is a really odd situation; that speaks volumes.
taxed_to_the_max writes:
it is tough to control spending, scott seems to be doing a pretty good job of that. judging by the number of people that are upset you can tell he's getting that part of the job done.
if he didn't cave into big agriculture on the immigration issue i'd say he's done a nearly perfect job so far. i won't vote for him again unless i see some action on his part regarding illegal immigrants that he spoke so tough about during his campaign

Although Crist did a good job for Florida while he was a Republican Governor, jumping over to the Democrat position (particularly as Left as Obama is), completely took him off of my go-to list. If the state wants a Democrat, then vote for a Democrat. Flip-flopping parties has no allegience to The People.

Don't talk or do some research. Scott has his law degree from SMU and was a partner at one of Dallas's premier law firms. Rounded up his rich oil clients and bought two local hospitals in the same area making 2.5% profit, and immediately shut one's doors, and the rest is history.
So don't think "it only hurts the team".

Why you are making a rash snap judgment, of why everyone is complaining? I don't know could it be we are ranked 47th in the nation in education, and he cut 2 billion out of the budget, only to replace a billion because of the uproar. So he could shoot a fancy commercial what like two years before his election. The broken promise of illegal reform, giving jails over to private companies, who are in the business of using our tax dollars, instead of state workers. It's bascially the same, look up the companies, they have retirement and benefits, and where do you think that money comes from the thousands of license plates the prisoners make? The road construction they do. No and No. Use your heads, its YOUR tax dollars, no matter if the state uses it or goes to Rick Scott's buddies that run the jail company that kicked $50,000 to his campaign fund.

Most of these third world leeches came in under Gov. Bush and Crist, Scott ran on a promise to rid our state of these leeches but instead kept his mouth shut when the Republican held Fl senate caved in to Democrats, and big labor.
Who in their right mind would put the idiot who is responsible for all these third world leeches back into office

This IS an intriguing poll. This poll that people actually wasted their time in answering shows the worth of it's importance. In South Carolina, a poll showed a candidate "other" beat Obama, but who is surprised. Polls are worthless, wait and see in November...It isn't even going to be close, another 2010. Buckle up demos!

Charlie is a nice person, too nice to be a governor. He could't say no to anyone.
Scott, on the other hand, takes on the tough jobs and does say no and doesn't try to be the affable pushover.
And as pointed out above, Christ signed off on the largest wave of tax increases ever in 2009, that included raising cost of fishing licenses, cigarettes, auto tags, tuition and much, much more.

You're missing the point. Anytime a politician signs off on a "sin" tax -- a tax that is discriminatory because it only affects a select group of people -- a tax that attempts to legislate personal behavior -- it hurts everyone. Fine, you don't smoke, but it's pretty much guaranteed that you do something that they'll eventually get around to taxing unfairly. Your turn's coming.
