NAPLES — A 33-year-old Naples man was seriously injured early Saturday when he lost control of his car on Interstate 75 in Collier County and crashed into a tree.
Osmany Medinilla was taken by air ambulance to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers with serious injuries after the 5:30 a.m. crash, but was listed in stable condition, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
The report says Medinilla was driving north on the inside lane, near mile marker 104, about a mile south of the Golden Gate Parkway interchange, when he lost control of the car.
He was approaching the mile marker when he veered off the right side of I-75 and hit the tree, according to the report, which says he was wearing a seat belt.
The report says the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
Collier court records show Osmany Medinilla Cordero racked up four tickets in 2010 and 2011 and paid fines for not wearing a seat belt, failing to stop for a school bus, running a red light, and speeding for driving more than 70 mph on an interstate.

Thanks dirty dick scott for enforcing strict, Arizona style immigration reform like you promised. This cost Florida taxpayers another $20,000 +

He wanted to be the new sheriff in town, rooting out illegal immigrants and anyone who harbored them.
**There was no talk of buck-passing to the feds. No need for comprehensive solutions.**
Slick Rick simply amped up the immigration rhetoric and beat Bill McCollum senseless with planks from the border fence he wanted to build.
If you thought Arizona's law was tough on immigrants and employers, just wait until Sheriff Rick rides into town and takes office.
"Rick Scott backs Arizona's law. He'll bring it to Florida ..." boasted one ad.
"Rick will require all Florida employers to use the free E-Verify system to ensure that their workers are legal," said another.
"Rick Scott will rid Florida of all illegal aliens," crowed another promise.
Now for the reality check: He has done none of these things that rick scott 'promised.'
And while Scott NO LONGER insists Florida could use a law like Arizona’s, he also made it clear it’s NO LONGER a priority.
thanks rick scott

Not one of you imbeciles showed any concern for the injured person. Only wanted to make a political statement totally unrelated to the incident.
