The Junior Everblades lost a third-period lead for the second time in as many days and fell to Team Michiana, 4-2, in a preliminary round game at USA Hockey’s Tier-II 18 and Under 2A National Championship tournament on Thursday at The Summit Sports and Ice Complex in Lansing, Mich.

The Jr. Everblades opened the scoring in the first period on a goal by Alex McCain, who attends St. John Neumann High. Barron Collier student Chris Brown notched an assist.

A second-period tally from S. Trade Chapman, who attends Estero High, gave the Jr. Everblades to a 2-1 lead heading into the third.

The Indiana-based Team Michiana scored three goals in a span of less than three minutes to claim the victory.

The Jr. Everblades, who lost their opener in overtime on Wednesday, will conclude preliminary round action in the 12-team tournament on Friday at 6 p.m. when they face Mission AZ Ice from Arizona.
