Gary Tincu, Naples
Divided we fall
This president, if you can call him that, is the most divisive, most ideologically driven occupier of the Oval Office in our lifetimes.
Rather than being the unifier he committed to be when elected, he has succeeded only in dividing us on the basis of class, race and belief in American ideals. And all of it has been deliberate.
He speaks of everyone having an "equal shot" at succeeding, but what he really means is that he wants to make us all victims of an equal sum game (i.e., more redistribution of wealth, more punishment of success and more dependency on bigger and bigger government).
Can anyone name any program, piece of legislation, etc., that has improved our collective national well-being? And when you couple this with the gross incompetence of Eric Holder, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, it spells failure.
To all liberals, keep drinking the Kool-Aid. To the rest of us, let's vote him and his minions out in November. He needs to go back to being a do-nothing empty suit; either that, or go to work for his "enablers" — the liberal media.
The latter is tantamount to the same thing.

I love it that Gary really knows that the president and his minions are responsible for all the divisiveness in government.
First, I get a kick out of the term "minions." Sounds so sinister. Shades of Lon Chaney saying, "yes, master."
A deliberate plan to fracture the Union. Very sneaky. Bad, bad, BAD Obama.
All hatred, bad haircuts, speeding tickets and venereal disease issues from that Kenyan socialist communist fascist anti-American so-called president with a skanky wife worthy of attack, too.
Republicans are allowed to say such things because they're true, and Obama started it. Proof is unnecessary; they just KNOW it. And if you don't, you're either a traitor too, or a moron. Or both.
Republicans are lovers, not snide snipers. People jump all over poor Rush and Murdock, those great patriots for the Cause. (In Murdock's case, it's an honorary patriot award since he's a foreigner.)
Gird your loins, grab some rope. It's time to take back our country! Don't worry--the Constitution doesn't protect our enemies, since we KNOW they're out to take our money and despoil our daughters.

Funny, but when I hear the word "minions", I think of the movie "Despicable Me".

Before President Obama took office neo-republicans committed to two things.
To put Grover Norquist's needs before their constituents.
And to make President Obama a one term President at any cost to the country.
Now they label him "devisive".
Ignorance or willful lie?
romneygate writes:
This is another diatribe by a Willoughby Tea Party fanatic raving about wealth distribution as some kind of attempt to dislodge the 1% from their "throne". It smacks of the prejudice and bigotry it implores under the guise of free speech. The criticism of Obama programs ironically is faulted by the denial of a health care program that requires everyone to provide for themselves. This has always been the criteria of the conservative hypocrites and now they oppose it because Obama proposes it. It's really quite ridiculous but understandable given the mentality of the disengenuous.
whalling writes:
Ed Klein recently published a book about Obama entitled "The Amateur". He was asked what is the biggest lie Obama has told the American public and based on his extensive research for the book, his response about the biggest lie follows. “He promised that he would bring us together. He promised that he would not be partisan, He promised that he would reach out to the other side, the Republican side. Instead, he and his small little group of people in the White House hunkered down, have not reached out, not compromised, making it impossible for Washington to work. It’s not Republicans who are at fault here, it’s the president, who does not know how to use the leverage of power and his powers of persuasion. He’s the anti-Lyndon Johnson in that he doesn’t know how to get things done. And so he’s been more divisive, more partisan than any president we’ve seen in modern history." In my opinion, Klein is totally correct. Obama is the Great Divider, he is not a uniter. His politics of demonization of Americans and American organizations and his committment to class warfare in order to gain votes, without regard to the damage caused to the nation, are his modus operandi. Obama has demonized so many American institutions, banks, oil companies, insurance companies, health care companies, Congress, Supreme Court, investment companies, states(e.g. AZ),, Bain Capital, and on and on. I do not ever remember another President attacking our own institutions with the purpose of gaining votes. Like the Democrat Mayor of Newark said about Obama's demonizing Bain Capital, it is nauseating. Our nation is more polarized now than ever before. It is easy to divide people, it takes great leadership to unite people.
romneygate writes:
Dividers and "bring us together"? That's a laugh. Lincoln tried it and the rebels are still honoring the confederate flag to this day. Some on their former rebel state capital grounds in a derisive manner. Some things seem permanently divisible.

Whalling provides us with a great example of neo-republican party over country. Like all neo-republicans he avoids any responsibility for his pledge to make President Obama a one term President at any cost to the country. In fact, following the lessons of radicals everywhere, he projects his nefariousness on his enemy, the President and real Americans everywhere, accusing them of his pledge of devisiveness.
There are two compelling reasons to voting the crumbling mob out of government.
The actual results of their previous actions when in power.
Their current deceptive behaviors.
Whalling doesn't get sheep dipped enough absorbing the 24/7/365 neo-republican propaganda Ministery output, so he's taken up reading the same lies in book form.
His chances of recovery to independent thought ever again? Zero.
CarpeVeritas writes:

Or how about closing the Med D Rx donut hole for seniors. Or I know, how about the dreaded stimulus that prevented a depression. If you think GWB was a better President than Obama you are a fool. Same goes for the liberals who think Obama is better than GWB.
Both Presidents blew up the debt, expanded and/or started wars, detained citizens without trial, spy on Americans in violation of the 4th amendment, continue the senseless drug war, and much much more.
Democrats thought they were electing a President who would end the drug war, close guantanamo, bring our troops home, and protect civil liberties. Did they get it? Not at all.
Republicans thought they were electing a President who would end the nation building "little wars" of Clinton, would reduce the debt and lower taxes, who would end abortion, and who would reduce the size and scope of government. Did they get that? Of course not.
Until you realize that the republicans and democrats are two wings on the same Big Governmnent party you will continue to fight each other and accomplish nothing except an ever expanding nanny state that will eventually collapse.
And seriously, do you honestly believe that Mitt Romney is any better? The guy who CREATED the individual mandate for healthcare that the Republicans want to repeal so badly. The guy who supported abortion before he was against it? The guy who supported TARP before he was against it?
You are being duped again.

I think that the success that business has had in importing semi-slaves from south of the border (with no transportation costs even) has the south ready to rise again. There isn't that much difference between minimum wage with no benefits and outright human ownership.
So now they are claiming that President Obama was even more divisive than Lincoln. Neither President would allow them to have their way.
pmz writes:
In fact, as I think about it, the illegals recruited from south of the border are probably less expensive labor even than slaves.
With slaves, you have to feed them and house them.
Minimum wage with no benefits doesn't cover the cost of feeding and housing families. The difference has to be make up by government assistance which we all (well at least all in the middle class. The wealthy not so much.) pay for in order to avoid bodies in the streets. Government subsidized slavery.
So, the conclusion is that the south has risen again and reinstated what they always wanted. Other people to do their work.

Arizona Governor Brewer angrily denounced the Obama administration’s decision Monday to strip the state’s police agencies of special immigration arrest powers, saying it was like telling the state to “drop dead” in the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision upholding a key provision of Arizona’s immigration law. She said the decision to rescind the joint arrest agreement, which essentially deputizes state and local police to detain illegal immigrants, would also affect the state’s ability to use federal data bases to help “verify” illegal immigrants. This is typical behavior of our President to punish AZ because the Supreme Court decision favored the AZ poition, in fact the vote was 8-0, unanimous, yet Obama plays dirty politics against US citizens. It is disgusting and nauseating.
romneygate writes:
Goodness, why is Governor Brewer upset about the Federal Government getting out of Arizona's business? What if a state decided the federal government was lax in it's collection of federal income tax from international corporations. What if that state mirrored the federal government in new laws that would seek to collect those lost feeral income taxes from these corporations, if the feds would not do it, the state would. Would Rush and the Republicans be equally applauding this state for enforcing federal laws, as they are regarding Arizona and the immigration issue?

"In March, President Barack Obama took in the most campaign contributions from those within the military and the Department of Defense, trumping the previous leader, conservative candidate Ron Paul, according to data collected by the Center for Responsive Politics."

After four years.......all you and your "minions" have is going negative on Bush.
Please explain to the audience why Obama has to go negative on Romney.
I know why........do you Peter?
It's because Obama can't make the case that we should want four more years of him.
Even our resident Libs have failed to make a case for re-electing him.
Here is a great analysis describing the bind liberals find themselves in.
We are past the point where Obama can win a referendum election, regardless of whether it is on him or the economy.
The success of his campaign is contingent upon two things.
First, when focusing on the narrow sliver of undecided voters, between 6 and 8 percent of the electorate, the Obama team must make its candidate the lesser of two evils.
It has to make the prospect of a Mitt Romney presidency so unpalatable that about half of those undecided voters will begrudgingly vote for reelection.
Polling focusing on the undecided voters reveals they are a deeply pessimistic and angry segment of the electorate and don’t particularly like either candidate (fitting, because they don’t tend to like politicians).
But they show signs of being more conservative than not.
One unpublished analysis gives Republicans a 10-point advantage on the generic congressional ballot test among those undecided about the presidential race.
Close analysis of the numbers shows that Obama might have an edge with between a third and a quarter of the currently undecided bloc.
That’s cutting things awfully close.

Arizona law enforcement officers are now an enemy of the federal government and rule of law.
What is Obama hiding?
Why is he afraid to come clean?
The dirty little secret is Obama is comfortable with a certain amount of viloence on our southern border.
It promotes stricter gun control laws.
Rep. Darrel Issa is not fooled.
The chairman of the House oversight committee investigating White House involvement in the botched “gun-walking” program that led to the 2010 death of U.S. Border Patrol agent accused President Obama of downplaying his involvement in the program or intentionally obstructing the Congress' inquiry.
The full House is scheduled to consider the contempt citation on Thursday.
Maybe Barack Hussein Obama should consider skipping all his campaign fundraising events on Thursday.
It's hard to read a teleprompter knowing you are having the worst day of your presidency.
pmz writes:
Clinton left the country in great shape.
Bush caused all of the damage we've suffered from since then. The wars, the Global Great Recession, the loss of American jobs overseas, the recruitment of semi-slaves from the south to displace American workers, the complete lack of progress on energy, education, and the environment, the massive debt caused by all of that, the need for the neo-republican mob to withdraw from governance, the rise of unelected mobsters like Grover Norquist to power, the take over of the country by business interests and the wealthy aristocracy, the destruction of basic freedoms like the separation of church and state, the compromise of the fourth estate as the defenders of democracy through enlightenment, all damaged, some nearly beyond repair.
President Obama has led a rapid recovery from much, but not all of that damage.
The choice in Nov is perfectly clear.
Return to the destruction or continue the recovery.
There is no question that the full recovery from Bush will take generations. There is also no question that all of the evidence says that Mitt would be equally destructive as Bush was.
We either recover to what America was under Clinton, or end the era of America here and now forever.
We know your choice and we know mine.
Others will decide though.
