Estuary Conservation Association hosting manatee forum

The Estuary Conservation Association is kicking off its annual forum series on coastal issues with a presentation next week on ecology and behavior of manatees.

Save the Manatee Club science director Katie Tripp and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission manatee biologist Denise Boyd are the speakers for the forum scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Pelican Isle Yacht Club, 410 Dockside Drive.

The forum, presented in partnership with the Barron Collier Jr. Foundation, is open to the public and is free to attend.

Other free forums are planned for Feb. 27 on inshore fishing, March 19 on environmentally sustainable boating and April 23 on sea turtles. They all start at 6:30 p.m. at the Pelican Isle Yacht Club.

The ECA is a non-profit organization that advocates for issues that concern the Wiggins Pass estuary and boating in North Naples.

I've heard Katie Tripp speak about manatee behavior. She is a great speaker.
Ought to be an interesting and informative presentation.
Pelican Isle Yacht Club is on the west side of Vanderbilt Drive, just south of Wiggins Pass.
I know Pelican Isle is gated, but I understand the guard at the gate will let the public thru for this meeting.
If the water in 'the pass' was warmer, maybe a few manatee would have graced us with their presence.
Thanks ECA for putting together another year of free forums on coastal issues.
I especially enjoyed the forum on red tide put on at La Playa a few years ago. Excellent panel offering both sides of the issue.
Good job, ECA.

Try this:

Gut and stuff manatee with horse manure.
Bake @ 350 for 4 hours.
Throw away manatee, and eat the horse manure.
