CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs manager Mike Quade will not return next season.
New Cubs President Theo Epstein announced the move today in a statement.
Epstein, who took over last Tuesday, said he and new general manager Jed Hoyer met with Quade on Thursday at Wrigley Field and spoke again on the phone on Tuesday. Epstein said he flew to Florida today to fire Quade.
