A 15-year-old boy accused of causing a crash late Thursday in Lehigh Acres faces a slew of charges including criminal mischief for damaging a hospital door while fleeing.
The boy, who lives in the 700 block of East Chattman Street, Lehigh Acres, was charged by Florida Highway Patrol troopers with three counts each of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and property damage, two counts of leaving the scene of a crash, and one count each of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, resisting arrest without violence, resisting arrest with violence and criminal mischief causing between $200 and $1,000 in damage. Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies charged with criminal mischief causing between $200 and $1,000 in damage and resisting arrest with violence.
According to FHP and Lee Sheriff’s Office reports:
About 8:30 p.m. officials were called about a two-vehicle crash near Wal-mart, 2523 Lee Blvd. The boy, who was driving a red Cadillac had minor injuries and was taken to Lehigh Regional Medical Center for treatment. No one else was transported.
Details of the crash were not available Friday from troopers, but earlier reports show two mailboxes were damaged in a different area.
While the boy was waiting to be cleared by medical personnel, he fled into a wooded area, came out with his hands up in the air, then used an expletive and ran again. His mother was at the scene.
A deputy and trooper used their Tasers on the boy. While they tried to handcuff him, he fought them. As a Lee sergeant tried to remove the Taser prongs, the boy kicked him in the leg.
Medical staff said the boy broke the automatic doors by pushing them off the tracks and to the floor. Repairs are estimated to cost at least $800.

I have called the police to report my 13 year old neighbor driving his grandma's car at least three times. They don't even bother to ride over and check it out. The other day he almost hit me! He rode over my other neighbor's mailbox, and ran a 4 way stop sign, causing an accident. The police couldn't care less.
